Siloam Springs

Siloam Springs, Arkansas

Siloam Springs, AR

Siloam Springs, Arkansas, is tucked away in the state's northwest corner. The town was founded in 1882, and the lure of the supposed healing powers of the local spring led to its initial growth. The city is renowned for its natural beauty and sense of community. In 2012, Smithsonian Magazine named the city one of the twenty best small towns in the United States.

One of the things that brings the community together is the yearly events. The Dogwood Festival draws over 30,000 people to Downtown Siloam Springs the last weekend of April. Exhibitors across the country make the trip to show off their arts and crafts, vintage items, handmade gifts, and more. The food selection is out of this world, and you can find fried green tomatoes, smoked chicken dinners, alligator-on-a-stick, funnel cakes, and other fair staples. Fun for the kids includes a rock wall, mechanical bull, bungee cord, and more. Live entertainment and music are scheduled throughout the day. The festival has been put on by the Siloam Springs Chamber of Commerce's Volunteer Dogwood Festival Committee since 1974.

The Siloam Springs Rodeo is one of the year's top events. In 2020 and 2021, our rodeo was voted the ACRA Division 2 Rodeo of the Year. The three-day event attracts more than ten thousand fans and shows off the area's best bull and bronco riders, barrel racers, ropers, and more. Watch the kids in the Mutton Bustin event as they test their skills in a sheep-riding race.

A trip to the area is not complete until you have visited Natural Falls State Park. At the heart of the scenery is a 77-foot natural waterfall, which was spotlighted during a scene in the 1974 movie Where the Red Fern Grows. Take in the sights on the observation platform or the seated observation deck at the bottom of the falls. The park has over 4 miles of hiking trails, horseshoes, catch-and-release fishing, disc golf, and more. Guests can stay overnight, and there are yurts available for rent.

Since 1985, Main Street Siloam Springs has been dedicated to preserving the historic downtown area. The organization has sponsored public artworks around the city, including murals and sculptures. At the Farmer's Market, you can find the best local produce, pasture-raised meats, homemade bread and jams, and many artisan products. For a full day of food, fun, and shopping, head over to Downtown Siloam Springs.

Try the area's best coffee and sandwiches while browsing the books at The Café On Broadway. Owners Melissa and Patty create dishes with local and sustainable products in an atmosphere dedicated to treating patrons with love, dignity, and respect. Their boutique cakes are works of art in their own right.
