Cedarville, Arkansas

Cedarville, AR

Cedarville, Arkansas, is situated in the Webber Valley of Lee's Creek in the foothills of the Boston Mountain range of the Ozark Mountains, making it the fourth-largest town in Crawford County. Valentine Matlock constructed the first home in the area back in 1840. During that time, Dr. Honoria Austin practiced medicine and became the first woman doctor in Crawford County. Legend has it that she lived in a tent with several dogs and dressed in men's clothing. Due to the abundance of cedar trees in our region, H. S. Anderson named the town Cedarville. The post office was created in 1872, and the town was officially incorporated on July 19, 1881.

Enjoy a long-standing tradition at The Post Winery, where grapes have been cultivated since the 1870s. They specialize in American grapes such as Niagara, Ives, Muscadine and more. The unique climate here yields exceptional fruit, and the winemakers conducted experiments with various table and wine grape varieties in partnership with the University of Arkansas Agricultural Fruit Program. The Post Winery features a retail store with a wine-tasting bar and an on-site restaurant called The Trellis Room, serving lunch five days a week. Visitors can indulge in the delightful flavors of 100% Muscadine grape juices and Red, Pink, and White Muscadine Wines.

After a drink, let someone else drive at The Crawford County Speedway, which has captivated motorsport enthusiasts for many years. The speedway boasts a thrilling, high-banked dirt oval track that offers an exhilarating racing experience. It hosts a diverse range of racing events, including stock, sprint, and modified car racing, drawing participants and spectators from the local area and beyond. With its challenging track layout and fast-paced action, the speedway provides intense competition and adrenaline-fueled moments.
